Review
The entire Old Testament contains numerous 'types' of Christ (to use a technical term). Robert Dallmann has done a real service in highlighting the link between Melchizedek and the Lord Jesus. I confess I had not previously thought much about Melchizedek, but I believe Dallmann provides a sound and defensible case - in other words I believe he is correct in his central thesis.
Not only does the Melchizedek-Christ link stand on its own terms, it also reinforces other 'types' of Christ, such as the Tabernacle (and its furnishings) being a fore-runner, the Passover being a fore-runner, Isaac in Genesis 22 as a type of the crucifixion, and so on. Read against the backdrop of these better recognised types, so the Melchizedek type of Christ comes into its own.
A great little book. I highly recommend it, and believe it opens the possibility for helpful dialogue specifically with Jewsih people as they consider the claims of Yeshua (Jesus).

It was a great joy writing this book. I was intrigued by the fact that Jesus' High Priestly ministry was patterned after Melchisedec, and the Bible tells us this on seven occasions.
The character study that has resulted in this book has deepened my understanding of Jesus and has strengthened my faith. I pray that reading this book will do likewise for you.
