Troy played Jesus Christ in a local passion drama for 9 years. He successfully coached girls fastpitch softball for 7 years. He and his wife had two beautiful girls.
But in January of 2010, after being blindsided with the news of kidney failure, the man from Ohio came to the realization that life as he knew it was over... He began a race against time, struggling at every turn, taking detours that didn't make sense, and facing roadblocks that tested his faith. When things looked absolutely hopeless, Hope showed up in a miraculous way!
Troy thought it was a brother's love that would save him, but it was a Father's love that saved them both. A thousand miles away a stranger felt a call to courageously give with nothing expected in return, not knowing that he had the rarest of kidneys.
Troy couldn't have imagined what God had in store for all who were part of this story. Hollywood couldn't have scripted it. He humbly encourages everyone reading this book to believe that, no matter what we are facing in life, we can experience the revelation of what God has in store for our lives.

This story is not just about me. This story is your own as well. My battle was life and death as my kidneys began to shut down. Yours may have been another health issue, the loss of a loved one, the changing of a career, or some other trial that was unforeseen.

Sometimes I look back over the things that happened and marvel at all of the incredible events that took place. Events that were taking place years earlier. Events taking place half way across the nation. These things had to fall into place to create this incredible story, all leading up to one main event in July of 2010.
It was then that I realized those seeds that God had been dropping had blossomed into a beautiful reflection of my past. There was beauty in the broken path, joy in the suffering, and meaning in the journey."
Just when I counted on a brothers Love to save me, it was a Fathers love that saved us both. A thousand miles away, a stranger stepped up and courageously gave with nothing expected in return.
