Are we STILL STANDING or have we been defeated by the circumstances surrounding us? We have a choice! No more Stinking Thinking; No more Condemnation; No more Lies/Weakness; No more Confusion; No more Wavering Faith; No more Defeat. What I am about to convey through The Armor of God, Ephesians 6, is the message our God has molded into my heart thus far. This is a road map or practical application of my Armor journey. Often when I'd lay my head down to sleep at night, my mind would enter the warp speed zone. Things would begin to accumulate as I ruminated on this and that for tomorrow or next week or next month or ten years from now. I wanted to figure out God's plans. How was He going to do so and so in my life or someone else's life, etc., etc., etc.? I mentally had to get back up, and put the helmet of Salvation back on to literally, save me from myself.
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16****
Lying back down, I would restart my nightly repose and thank God for the finishing day. I would remind myself that I am not promised tomorrow! Why was I worrying about it? Should I wake up in the morning, I would deal with what may, with His grace and His Word. That was an important lesson for me, of which I am often retested!
I have an elderly Swedish neighbor who has been battling cancer for the last 12 years. He does not like to go to the condo swimming pool alone. When we meet together in the mornings, I will often ask him, how he is. His response is always the same, "I woke up today; that is good. However, if I had not woken up, that would be even better." By his response, you can assume, and yes, you are correct, he is a Christian who loves his Lord. What a great thought for our thinking
