This version really cuts to the chase, so it is a bit shorter than the original version, but in turn, it has become even more powerful and practical! The layout is greatly improved and makes a very easy-to-use training resource for growing discernment in trials. Praise God! It was important that the 2nd edition lend itself to the real-life training. In addition to really giving the book's discussions a user-friendly overhaul, I've also added a super INDEX (if I do say so myself - I tabbed it because I use it a lot), I added some helpful page-referencing in the book, and also changed the table of contents so you can see the sub-sub-section titles in the chapters. Each of these is only about 4-5 paragraphs in length. I like them because they make for easy stopping points to take a breather and digest what was said.

While this revision was on my heart during the 3 years or so since the original version was published, it still took about 8 months (Jan-Aug 2013) to pull together. The biggest goal (accompanied by much prayer) was to be able to discern the essential material from the "rabbit trails." While every bit of the material went under the editorial magnifying glass, some material was identified as supporting or "a rabbit trail," thus it joined the original materials I put in the Supplemental Info Section of the Keys website.

I must say thanks and glory goes to God because in the process of doing all this, another Keys Series book - Feelings 102: Bible Studies for LIVING God's Written Word, Volume 1 -was published in February, along with 16 "Tips for Facilitators" PDFs in support of that training resource between April and July! Dad and I also did a whole bunch of discipleship and small group training during the same 8 month period the F101 2nd edition was coming together!

The Lord is good... every day! I like that because it is the bottom line. And when my heart isn't feeling His presence, then it is transformation time! I really hope that the F101 2nd edition material helps you to experience the Lord more during your trials, and to overcome Satan's fiery darts more quickly. I also hope that all this rambling about my own behind-the-scenes experience in prepping the 2nd edition for you encourages you in some way!
