The Hidden Life: Living Inside-Out to Release God's Blessing

Description:

Pastors, churches and individual Christians are constantly searching for the right strategies for success in their ministries. Yet our production-driven culture has led us to ask the wrong question. The Bible repeatedly points us back to a deeper issue: who must I be?

Contradiction, hypocrisy, and neglect of our hidden lives too often choke off any fruit that God would bring forth. The flesh compels us to work to bear fruit. But just the opposite is true: it is our works that make us barren. We so easily compartmentalize and isolate inconsistencies in our hidden lives and think that we can still move forward in God's service. As a result, much of what we "do" for God is unnecessary, unproductive and unfruitful. For God brings forth His fruit not in those who do, but in those who are.

Review

"I'm 61, been in ministry for 40 years, how could your book leave me so breathless. I took teaching notes from every chapter..." - James Glynn, President and Founder, HaitiRevival

"I believe the Holy Spirit truly led me to your book... While I am only halfway through reading it, I want to thank you for the incredible blessing it has already been to me. How I needed such challenging and encouraging words right now!" - Ed Cleaver, Senior Director, Compassion International

"This book fits the category of "life changing" for me. I have read and re-read it, and find myself repeatedly going back to specific passages that speak to me. Possibly this book spoke to me deeply because of where I am in my own growth trajectory at this point in time, but even if that is true I believe this book has a message that needs a wider audience within Christendom, and I hope I can encourage others to read it." - Timothy Buck

"...a work of compassion and great value. ...some of the contents of the book will not be comfortable for readers, but my thoughts turned to 'faithful are the wounds of a friend.'" - David A. Duke, Quiet Heart Press
