Christian women held captive by demeaning patriarchal attitudes? It happens all the time. This fresh and timely book by the editor of "Charisma" magazine takes a no-nonsense look at unscriptural mind-sets within the church--ways of thinking that have made women into "second-class citizens." A powerful expose, it will enlighten and free women to be all that God is calling them to be.

"Lee Grady brings passion and integrity to the debate regarding women and the church." -- Brenda Davis, Editor,
From the Publisher
In the turbulence of the mid-1600s in England, a revival movement began that released women to minister in unprecedented ways. The endured incredible hardship from persecution, often being jailed or even martyred. But their influence was powerfully felt, both within the church and beyond it into society, as they led the way in the abolition of slavery, the fight for women's suffrage and prison reform. During the next three hundred years God reiterated through other nascent revival movements that He could use women.
In the Book of Acts, we are told that in the last days there will be a great outpouring of the Spirit of God that will transcend gender and age: "'And it shall be in the last days,' God says, 'That I will pour forth of My Spirit upon all mankind; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams'" (2:17). God is opening the door for you, as a woman, to move into all that He is calling you to do.
When you read "10 Lies the Church Tells Women" and see that some of the things you have been told or taught by the church are based on a wrong analysis of God's Word, you will be better prepared to fully embrace the truth that "there is neither male nor female" in Christ (Gal. 3:28).
